Soul Prescription May 2016

Most of our resident DJs are off on their Memphis jolly for this month’s date. That’s not to say that there aren’t abundant treats in store for anyone venturing down the steps at the Betsey Trotwood.

We’ve been fortunate to coax David Nossiter and Gareth Sweeney out of retirement. For those that don’t know them - Gareth and David were the instigators of the ‘George Jackson’ nights held in London back in the early part of the century. One of the very first nights to shake off the oppressive shackles of a strictly dance-based format for a more progressive mix of simply incredible soul music. David and Gareth have impeccable taste and mighty fine record collections and join the resident team for one night only.

If that’s not enough we’ve also got some of the Carib Soul Crew as special guests. Del Robinson, Junior and JM Soul have agreed to come down and share the treasures of their collective boxes. Many of you will have been to the force of nature that is Carib Soul in sunny Barkingside. For those that haven’t you don’t know what you’ve been missing. Come on down to get a taste of what makes their Alldayer such an incredible day out.
