Fabulous in house sound system and when current conversion works completed will also have separate chill out area & bar, plus 'smokers room' (apparently local legislation now dictates smokers can't congregate outside on the pavement after 2am) and an increased capacity of 300. So at present about half that size with a semi circular bar, dance floor and DJ booth etc. With a 'typical French' approx start time of 10pm, the scooterists arriving from the weekends main event at Vinca were predictably late arrivals, then decided to venture to one of the wonderful Catalan eateries, whilst others had to head home, across into Spain etc without the late night detour to Perpignan. Hence the numbers weren't the 200 or so who danced the Friday and Saturday night away in Vinca - a combination of Sunday night/ work on Monday, exhaustion from the Weekender /Rallyee and lengthy journeys on the Lambrettas and Vespas. That all said, as always for Perpignan / Palmarium SC events , a lovely vibe, hospitality and friendliness. Behind the decks great tunes from Paul Ridley, Laurent Vidal and Fast Eddy (the Palmariums' head honcho ) - northern oldies, 6ts rnb, a touch of popcorn and early doors - a nice mix of chill out sounds, 7ts , 8ts and eclectic from Lemon 'let's go bikini ' to Buzz & Traci 'my girl, my guy'. Really enjoyed the event, meeting up with Paul, Laurent and Eddy again plus a lovely couple from London who's names have evaded me and of course the rest of the Palmarium SC boys and girls. The venue owner and host, Laurent Vidal, is keen to have a northern soul weekender there in Summer 2017 - normally the club is shut for the Summer season as most of the local club goers head for the music scene on the med coast. So any experienced promoters who would like a French challenge there's a potentially wonderful opportunity here....plus Catalan Dragons, fine local wines, the Pyrenees, culture and sun. 1 Link to review
