brianc 72 December 18, 2017 Share this review I'D ECHO ANDY'S COMMENTS, NOT FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS YEAR A DISAPPOINTING TURNOUT FOR WHATEVER THE REASON. IT DIDN'T DETER THOSE WHO ATTENDED HOWEVER AND THE MUSIC WAS AS USUAL A GOOD MIX WITH A LOT OF UNDERPLAYED TUNES. THANKS TO THE DJS FOR THEIR EFFORTS. AS WELL AS GIGS NEXT YEAR AT THE BOWLING CLUB WE WILL BE BACK IN BARRELS WITH A SELECTION OF 'SOUL IN THE BASEMENT' NIGHTS. AS SOON AS LINEUPS FINALISED I'LL HAVE DETAILS POSTED ON SOUL SOURCE. Andybellwood 1,803 December 17, 2017 · Edited December 18, 2017 by andybellwood Share this review Nice venue, lovely to meet the Glasgow contingent with ace tunes including some amazing ‘new to me’ 5ts/6ts rnb from Emily & Alex. As always great ‘back to our roots’ 6ts soul from double decking Dicka & Deka and promoter/host, Brian Cardno. Numbers through the door suffered though, with the venue being slightly out of town and a bitterly cold evening, festive commitments elsewhere for some and the A1 being closed which deterred many would be travellers from the north east. That all said, those that were there were open minded/ receptive /danced. So if you fancy a trip to historic Berwick, take the opportunity to discover and enjoy the North Northumberland Coast , Holy Island etc and enjoy a mix of 6ts soul, mod, rnb with a touch of northern, popcorn & ska plus a smidgen of Motown then ‘Soul on the Tweed’ is for you - added to which Brian sources guest djs from far and wide so your certainly going to hear something refreshingly different from their respective collections. So big thanks for the invite - always enjoy spinning a few to the Berwick soul crowd and will upload plays to Mixcloud and post on here. 1 Link to review
