A sad night to be sure, but WHAT a finale for the soul nights at The Harold club! Decent turn-out - I arrived at 8.15 - well before the doors officially opened at 8.30 - to find quite a crowd already there! The atmosphere was buzzing from the word go - the DJs all worked their socks off to keep the floor busy all night, with plenty of up-tempo stompers to keep the dancers happy. Huge thanks & well done to DJs Steve Dalton, Danny Steele, Rob Haigh & Eddie Burnside for the tunes, plus a special thanks to Steve Dalton for hosting the soul nights at The Harold Club. Thanks too to the hard-working bar staff - they managed to keep smiling all night despite being rushed off their feet! Absolutely everyone there said what a good night they'd had, & what a crying shame it is that the club committee came to the decision that the bar takings were not making sufficient profit to make the soul nights viable. Sadly everything boils down to money in the end. I will miss the Harold soul nights - it's been one of my favourite events for quite a number of years now - but on the plus side - the last night was an absolute BLAST!!! 2 Link to review
