Never seen Les Norman before but anyone who plays the Enchantments - I'm In Love With Your Daughter immediately followed by Bobby Williams - I've Only Got Myself To Blame is instantly catapulted into the upper echelon of DJ standing for me, two of my all time favourites at once. Most nights hearing either one is brilliant. Then John Weston, how underrated is this guy?! Barbara & Brenda - Never Love A Robin, Billie Kennedy - Sweet Things, Mitty Collier - Git Out, Lil Gray - Are You Fooling, Bobbi Lynn - Opportunity Street, Thelma Lindsay - Prepared To Love You, apart from the latter no one plays this stuff, why not it's all amazing and about 1,000,000 times better than House For Sale or I Wanna Give You Tomorrow. Jo Prinsen also followed up with some blinders but it was at that point we had to dash off to Stoke. Good crowd for what is pretty much the only remaining regular Northern Soul do in Birmingham. Well worth the effort. Only drew one DJ and local legendary dancer Michael Casserley doing all of the dances to the Isley Brothers Nobody But Me. I rarely give 5 stars - I've noticed that often reviews are by people connected with the event who inevitably give 5 stars to everything. I am trying to be objective. Link to review
