Staying at the Borak Hotel, part of the Bluesun Group - the leading luxury hotel brand in Croatia, we are pleased to announce that we have the exclusive use of the Borak Hotel and all the attendant facilities for Rare Soul Bol. We’ll be bringing music poolside by day, and on the terraces for the evening. We also have the option of inside space, with seating and a wooden dance area.
The main hotel buildings are located a mere 50m from the beach, where you will find the Borak Beach Restaurant and bar, with spectacular views of the Adriatic and the famous Zlatni Rat beach. Again we have access to an arena by the side of restaurant with a stage, dance area and covered terrace.

Hotel Borak looks forward to welcoming Rare Soul lovers after successfully hosting twice yearly soul events over several years with the popular Bolsoul and BolBeats events every May and October.
The small, unspoiled, historic town and harbour at Bol is linked to the Borak Hotel by a beach promenade, taking around 15 minutes to stroll alongside the Adriatic and is lined with beach bars, restaurants, huts serving street food and sellers of local produce. Various recreation and leisure activities will also be available throughout the week and these will advertised at Borak reception and via the Rare Soul Bol Facebook page.
The Island of Brac is linked to the mainland by the main port of Supertar and the small Brac airport which generally caters for Croatian domestic flights. Ferry crossings from Split Harbour on the mainland to Supetar in Brac run 7-9 times a day during May and take both foot passengers and cars. There is a daily Catermaran which runs from Bol to Split @ 6.30am and the return from Split to Bol @ 4.30pm and which takes just over 1 hour each way.

The date chosen is Saturday, May 11, 2024.
Dancing will start at 5pm until midnight. In addition to the residents Carlo Campaiola, Marco Dall'Asta and Leo Mastropierro, the opening dj set will be entrusted to Aldo Ricciardi and the special guests will be Dave and Lynne Girdwood. 
Outside the venue, in the fantastic and large outdoor space, there will be a bbq, sandwiches and street food but also some vegan/vegetarian options.

WHERE TO STAY AND EAT:
Porta Furba area is really handy for walking to the soul do. Arco di Travertino and Colli Albani are also pretty close, all are relatively cheap for taxi fares to the do and any of them are only a few stops on the metro for central Rome sight seeing. Restaurants, bars, cafes etc are also cheaper than central Rome.

Our aim is a proper old school soul do in the Bournemouth/Poole area again. In the "Spirit of the Uni' is a nod towards Dave's old club nights at Bournemouth Uni - so if you went to them and were disappointed when the accommodation was re-developed and they ended, come and lend us a hand in building upon (and improving) the foundations laid a few years back.  Loads of things going on locally, but none really bring in out of area DJ's to keep it fresh and lift the bar musically to the levels we all crave and deserve.
The only music policy is Original Vinyl Only - other than that the DJ's (residents Dave Morris; Steve Malpass; & Stuart Ross - plus carefully selected guests) can play what they like across the broad Soul Spectrum. I'm very much of the view "if you don't clear the floor at lest once in every set... you're not trying hard enough". BUT of course it's not about us - it's all about YOU. So if you're planning on coming along to get SOULcial with us and have any sensible requests - please let us know.

The Soulful Sessions has a new venue from May 11th, we’re moving to The Yorkshire Grey, just south of Worcester on the A38, Worcester Rd, Earl's Croome. WR8 9DA.

The Yorkshire Grey, https://yorkshiregrey.co.uk/, has gone back to being a Pub and we’ll take over the whole pub for the night, food will be available up and till 21:00 and we have to say, the menu is fabulous, well worth coming for an early evening meal.
Upton-on-Severn is the closest town for B&B’s and Hotel’s, with Malvern, Tewkesbury and Worcester the closest larger towns or city.
 
We also have a new DJ joining the team, Lofty (Les Wright), who covered for Rob in February, having played at various nights including Soul Republic, Hinckley, Soul on Sunday at Weavers in Malvern and Malvern Soul Night’s.
