Scooterboy 272 Posted September 18, 2016 Hi Folks, Apologies for being so very late posting this; work has been...let’s just say “challenging” and I’ve not been as on-the-ball as I would have liked. I can’t believe that it’s been nearly a month since the last Northern Line. The year’s rushing by so quickly before you know it it’ll be time to put the sprouts on! Pete Eccles was our special guest last time around and Pete did a brilliant spot for us, filling the floor with classics and in-demanders with a couple of left-field records for good measure (all of which went down well). To follow in the same kind of vein we’re chuffed to bits that we’re able to bring you another well respected, in-demand and local(ish) guest DJ in Jacko. Jacko is well known across the North West, most especially for being one of the driving forces behind the Burtonwood Soul Night that ran for many years. He’s also been (and continues to be) a regularly requested guest at many of the region’s best known events and he’s kindly guested for us on a number of occasions, both at The Northern Line and, back in the day, when Biff, Dave Truscott and I ran The Birchfield. Why’s he so popular? Because he’s one of the best DJs out there...he’s got the tunes, he reads to crowd/floor and he knows how to put a spot together. If there’s anyone who’s not heard to Jacko before then boy, are you in for a treat. I have to admit that it’s not getting any easier for Ben, Moz or I to run the event without our dear friend John ‘Biff’ Griffiths, and setting up the hall in readiness for the event is quite a sombre affair. But John would have wanted us to carry on and with attendances still healthy as a result of your support, and with guests of the quality and calibre of Jacko willing to give their time, I’d like to think that John would approve. If you can pop over this Saturday 24th September to Warrington we’d love to see you and you’ll be guaranteed a warm welcome. Chris Penn (on behalf of Maurice ‘Moz’ Arnold, Ben Moses’ and in fond memory of our dear friend John ‘Biff’ Griffiths) 1 Link to comment
