Some NEW info for ya regarding our 'Spirit of The Orwell' night at Haydock Golf Club in Newton-Le-Willows on Saturday 26th November 2022. On the night BUTCH will be playing an early set of mid-tempo soulful madness mainly for the listeners and connoisseurs FOLLOWED BY a later set for the dancers. We are calling the first set kinda like 'The last hour of The Mecca in reverse' LOL
Imagine the tunes that BUTCH has that you never EVER hear him play? Well on the night of SAT 26th NOV you can hear tunes that will be outstanding and probably unknown to all of us in the room? The prospect is mouth-watering. So along with our annual BUTCH fest of killer dancers at Haydock, we will get to witness mid-tempo/down-tempo tunes early on that will put goosebumps on your goosebumps! Spread the word because as far as we know, this is another first and another 'I was there' night in the making?

Once a year an event comes along that is eagerly anticipated by many soul aficionados. It’s a celebration of nights gone past at the late, lamented ‘Orwell’ soul nights, while also looking forward by hearing some of the fantastic music currently being played at modern and crossover soul nights across the UK and Europe.

The event, which goes under the banner ‘Spirt of the Orwell’ takes place this year on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 26th   and tickets are already selling fast. Word around the 'Dab of Soul' campfire this weekend was the idea of Butch showcasing some of his lesser known/played sounds early doors is really gonna bring some absolute gems out of the box...I for one can't wait!

Tonight's the night, the Mighty Butch at Haydock. Two sets from the man, 9pm a collectors set, diggin deep into the back of his box and playing stuff he rarely gets the chance to play and then a bit later what we expect from him. With the residents of Steve Plumb, Brian Flanny Flanders, Baz Maleady Tsop Manchester and Steve Connor. If you haven't got tickes give Steve Plumb a shout.

Tonight we are starting at 7.30pm with Butch's first set starting at 9pm. Before that we have three 'back of the box' sets from Steve Plumb, Barry Maleedy & Flanny to set the tone for the night. No pressure on the dance floor but if you fancy a mid-tempo merengue, please be our guest

PS - Directions - Sat Nav's should sort you out but remember when come off at M6 J23 and head towards Manchester on the A580 you will need to whizz round the first roundabout you come to and head back on the A580 for a few 100 yeards before turning left. That's caught a few out over the years 🙂 The Golf Club is on your left after a couple of hundred yards, be careful not to whizz past it!
