I remember RS taking me to Anglo American one Saturday morning, Tim's normally closed on Saturday but he opened up especially for his highness.

This was before he started doing auctions, so if it was there it was for sale and Romona Collins was there with Dickies name on it.

It was great being one of the in-crowd for a day.🤩

However there's one part of the day that seems a bit fuzzy, I seemed to remember Tim took us to the pub and bought us lunch after we'd spent a small

fortune with him, but after getting to know him all of these years later, there's no way that can be true. He lives borderline Yorkshire.thumbup

Great story Bob...

Here's a real quality tune, that you'll only hear played at certain venues, simply because of its rarity. Sharing the same backing as the Whispers, The Dip, I first heard this played by our esteemed guest Tim Ashibende when he played at the Shirt Club in Radcliffe a while back and it went straight on to the 'want's list...Looking forwar to hearing this on Saturday thumbsup

Exactly mate. I think he was buzzing from selling some records to 3 Lancashire lads on a Saturday morning, 😜

A real deal rarity in its original format and one from Ian's playbox that just ooozes quality. A real memory jerker and one of those records that'll always be know as one of the keys to the establishing the scene

A record with attitude and one that would sound great for all the early bird arrivals and one that Baz has been championing in recent times!!

Having an early morning rummage - here's one that was a c/u for Chalky at Lifeline and still has legs IMO

On a personal note it would be amiss of me not to mention the passing of the wonderful Brian Rae. On Saturday I'm planning to give these 2 gems a spin which sit in pride of place the playbox.

Rare Soul History right there, wonder whether The Gospel Classics in the picture graced the turntables at Whitworth Street?

I couldn't say for certain Mick, but I can tell you that I asked Brian to play it so often in the early/mid-90s he gave me this copy LOL

For Sure at Whitworth Street Mick, plus MrM's and he championed it as a re-activation at the SAINTS club in St Helens during one of his many guest spots there thumbup A Steve Smith favourite as well, as I recall

This is one of them twofer's that's also dirt cheap, so if you think about it, it's more or less a free record.huh

Simon would call this walking pace northern soul, pitch it up a couple of notches and then it's a brilliant midtempo dancer.thumbup

If you're wondering what's on t'other side it's the wonderful "Do you believe".
