I'm rather miffed with a promoter, and would like your opinion on whether I am right to be, and if so, what my consumer rights are.

I was kicked out of a venue for not paying, which was rather irritating for a few reasons, not least of which I did pay.

I'm a very boring person who has never been glamorous enough to be kicked out of anywhere before, and it's also rather galling because I've lost count of the number of times I've patiently waited at the money-table when I've arrived late at a venue for someone to see me and take my dosh.

That I've attended this particular promoter's events regularly, often the first on the floor or the last off it is arguably irrelevant, but annoying too. It's also frustrating because I actually enjoy their events and regret I won't be going back to any of them till this is resolved.

The promoters who did this also refused to refund a ticket for an event they cancelled, because it was too late for a return. I'd originally asked for a refund by phone soon after the event was cancelled, but they said I had to send the online-ordered ticket back by post for proof, but I never got round to it till they annoyed me a few months later and I enclosed it with my complaint in a letter.

They offered me free entry instead at the event they'd kicked me out from (worth a fraction of the price of the ticket), with no apology for wrongly kicking me out in the first place, which is really what I was after above all.

In short: they kicked me out for not paying, even though I'd paid; when I wrote to them asking for an apology and a refund on a ticket, they refused both, offering a fractional refund instead.

I didn't even ask for my money back for the night they kicked me out.

To be honest, I feel like I've been mugged, while being called a thief by the mugger.

What do you reckon?

We are unsuccessful promoters and ask the moderators to erase Biggray1 from Soul Source, due to his agenda of personally attacking us at every opportunity.

Wow...Unsuccessful promoters...read your comments in previous posts by you..wink.gif

Exactly. Totally pointless if you aren't going to say who it is so people know who to avoid.

It has occurred to me I may be wrong.

I have spoken to one person privately who pointed out the number of freeloaders, and the promoters point of view that someone inside an event without a stamp (they kicked me out when I asked for one to go outside) is guilty until proven innocent.

I have been on sites unrelated to soul where naming and shaming is banned, and offending posts are removed to prevent the issues I have mentioned. As this is not a normal lookback I am being cautious until I have been given permission.

I really am trying to do this the correct way.

when you arrived at the venue did you make yourself known to the promoter and did he wave you through for free? if so its his/her fault for not stamping you. you should have been given chance to explain to how ejected you to get the promoter and he could sort it out for you

Seeings as you are definitely reading this thread can you answer my question please?

It wasn't you then?

No idea who 'spirit' is. I'm sure anyone who has a beef with us, contacts us with the usual threat 'if you don't agree with us' we will go to Soul Source.

92 needed compensation at Whitby for counterfeit tickets that had been distributed without our knowledge.

210 got in FREE the following year, using the same threat.

We are available daily to deal with any issues at sales@Goldsoul.co.uk

We are also at the Kings Hall, Stoke this Saturday. We run a transparent business.

If we didn't we would not be trading.

No. I paid and remember paying. I've no idea about the stamp, maybe they forgot to give me one, maybe it sweated off. I have no idea.

I wrote to them twice, they didn't respond to my second letter. I didn't at any point threaten to go to Soul Source. I never had any desire to settle this on here.

Sorry Kev,but Spirit is not the sort to make threats. He just wants this mess sorting. Some folk on the scene are nice guys!!!

I agree, no promoter should assume everyone who hasn't been stamped is a non-payer. People on doors often forget to stamp punters in the rush. What concerns me is that the promoter didn't bother to find out who you are Lee and if there was a chance you were lying. They just assumed you were lying. I think any promoter who hasn't a clue who the hardcore event goers are (and you are one of them) is sadly out of touch. Hope you get it sorted and see you at Move On again sometime. thumbsup.gif

I know it's not the result you want here but would it not perhaps be better to forget this put it down to experience and make sure it never happens to you again.

Regards - Mark Bicknell.

I like that same word, its not the re-creation of the Casino at Kings Hall, its just the re-creation at Kings Hall. Some people are really curious as to who the promoter was...i say who gives a sh*te.

Thanks a lot, Kev and Matt.

Ok.

In response to Mark Bicknell's concern, and taking into account the implication of Pete S and DundeeDavie that I'm doing this for titillation, and because I have no desire to embarrass or cause problems for this site, I am going to close the thread off. Sorry to anyone who was hoping for an entertaining bloodbath - that was never going to happen, and its not why I started the thread.

The promoters know who they are.

This is a final appeal to them to do the right thing. Apologise (that's the most important thing) and give me the full refund.

I will let you know if they sort things.

Until then I will follow my original intent, and Simsy's advice, and not return to their events, which I will genuinely regret.

I know it's not the result you want here but would it not perhaps be better to forget this put it down to experience and make sure it never happens to you again.

Mark, you wouldn't have ejected him.You would have sorted it on the door.thumbsup.gif

Why not just ask Spirit if he is referring to you?

You run a transparent business don't you?

Surely you would want it to made clear?

So why not answer the question then??You are getting slagged off and you find time to promote the Kings Hall on Saturday...?? By the way we all know who Spirit is...Cos we live in The Real World!

then 'spirit' needs to email us as we have no idea who he or she is!

See you at Stoke on Saturday.

thread closed by the thread starter

as said before if going to close a thread ask please post that you have and reason if possible

on the question of permission about posting names etc

you can within reason post what you want on here, as long as it doesnt break the terms of use

thanks

mike
