June 28, 201015 yr Author In Lord John's book @ £350 for mint issue?? if that helps!! Yes thanks, it says that in my price guide but its a few years old so i'm guessing it may have increased.
June 29, 201015 yr Never seen one....must be rare surely? But at the end of the day you can get a demo fairly easily for £150 - £200, so only worth more to a collector. By the way, there was someone on here that was desperate for an issue of this tune......sorry but can't remember who it was....but if you put it in the search box you should find him....he's advertised for it many times. By the way, this tune is in my all time top ten......awesome performance.
June 29, 201015 yr The issue is a tough one. I'd say it was outnumbered by the demo by a factor of at least fifty to one. Problem in trying to sell one for the premium price is that the only difference is the colour of the label: orange as opposed to yellow. Unlike RCA demos of later in the decade the dj copy has both sides so you're only really going to get the very top end price from someone looking to specifically collect RCA issues rather than someone who merely wants the record to play or deejay with.
June 29, 201015 yr The Rare Lp take is Awesome as well! I can't agree with that Jimmy, it's just a drawn out version that spoils it for me. That's what I always loved about 60's and early 70's 45's, they have an intro, tell a story, build to a climax and there gone. Bang, fantastic and leave you wanting more......play it again, play it again. You can have too much of a good thing. Just my humble opinion of course. Phil.
