Where is it written that a record cannot be played twice in an evening?

I was recently at a do in Warrington, where we arrived around 9.30, when I asked the DJ to play a record he said " that's already been played by the previous DJ"

This was before 8 o clock. Most of the room were not even at the venue then so why can the record not be played again?

I'm not suggesting that the same records should be played over and over but two or three in an evening is hardly excessive is it?

Maybe put a jukebox in and do away with the DJ, people can listen to what they want then?

Great idea Carl, no promotor fall outs, no moaning,no ego,no wages & no imposition of taste, Yeh that could fly I think.

Take care,be safe & remember,"Tonight there's gonna be a jailbreak,somewhere in this town,see me & the boys we don't like it,so were getting up & going down",

could get a bit expensive though and a pain running to the bar all the time for change to feed the thing :( 150 records or so in a six hour soul night, whoever owns the jukebox would make a fortune
