oh right, recorded by you Pete? links to the 3 before 8 post below I guess.

I know buggar all about Wigan really, I suppose you had to be there...but this stuff really gives you the flavour.

Yeah they're fantastic, the uploader's taken the entire podcast, chopped it into separate tracks and not credited the original source.

On any of them.

even before my time Pete, i was a '77 boy

I didn't record it Grant, I put bits of it up on here many years ago and did it as a podcast about a year back, it got over 1000 listens

I can't hear the bit where someone says.. "Can you get my beer towel out..."

Wish we still had all those old tapes we did do though, don't you Pete. Quality might not be up to much, but they certainly seem to get the atmosphere across

:)

Don't worry mate, I've still got stacks of 'em.

There's a couple here if you want to listen to them:

The first one was from Feb 77, pretty sure you weren't there that night, the second one there was just me and you, it wasa very quiet saturday night so we sat on the stage for the only time ever and I recorded it from there, you'll probably hear yourself. That was the night you met that girl from Partington. LOL

Mal you would not believe the differancembetween them playing the 3b48 and the night ending , it went from a crowd being manic to near on deafly silence . I rarely stayed to the end as it put me on a real downer unless I was off to Sams dayer or elsewhere.

I was there too Pete, remember H Hatcher was c/up as Al de Lory - Discotec Alibi (funny I used to love it and still do :) ), think RS played Stick Together (not long after i had those 'famous' pants done  ), just before it or it right after it, sad I know I remember but still have the original tape I recorded that night too - think one of the clearest tapes I had from Wigan I passed over to Mark F, was late casino with a bit of Seearling but most Gary R playing Ray Agee (c/up at the time as James Conwell, although a lot of people still think that was a Stafford first along with some more of these on that tape), Imaginations, Y Vernee c/up as V Baines, Richard Anthony c/up as Detroit Wheels, Pat Lewis, Admirations, 'Lies' instr., etc.

I loved Harley Hatcher too Grant, and still do! I remember getting a copy of the album on MGM while it was still covered up one night at The Wulfrun in Wolverhampton! Still think it was usually Alan Rhodes who played Prince & Princess tho

It wasn't, it was Richard Paul. Like Grant says - he plays it on that tape.

As I mentioned earlier, my memories sometimes not what it used to be, and quite often a bit rose tinted too! Must be all the Polo's!

yeah defo RS played it first Paul, but yeah also got a copy of the HH on the LP eventually many years later, then managed to get the 45

I can't remember ever staying to the end of the 3B8 - probably the thought of the journey back to Chelt was intruding about 7.30...mind you I never once went into Mr. M's either!
