The seller assures me he has had it checked out by dealers and well known collectors and it is real.

More than 7,000 tracks (RM files) taken from over 300 northern / modern soul CDs, all for just £4.99. And you get free unathorised software to convert the files to MP3 format. This is an insult and the seller should be suspended from eBay. If you are an eBay member, please report him.

He's out of order recording other peoples cd's and reselling them but it's not up to you to tell people to report him really, is it? The software is available anywhere on the net for free also.

When I was doing these (miscellaneous tracks not pirated cd's), bloke bought them off me, reported me to ebay, I got kicked off and he started selling my compilations using my artwork

He boasts he has copied over 500 different northern / modern soul albums and has sold them in various formats. From his feedback he has over 600 recent transacations. It's certainly not a small-time thing.

No I can see that Paul, I was just a bit concerned about grassing him up, if I had a beef with him I would, but I haven't, so I wouldn't feel right just reporting someone I didn't know - thats all...

I understand, Pete. And it's ironic that if I shut him down (at least his activities on ebay) I might actually be doing him a big favour because he's probably heading for serious trouble.

Being suspended from ebay is nothing compare to being prosecuted for copyright infringement.

Yer, agree he should be shut down - can't believe he's naive in the slightest.

What's worse though is the lack of self policing / regulation by e-bay. OK I accept they'll never be able to detect boots from legit originals etc....but any mauron can see this is blatant copyright infringement.

soulspammer also has other usernames, including revilotboy and slimboydutch, so the scale of his operations is much bigger than we thought. He's had over 1,200 recent transactions, his feedback provides a nice trail of illegal activities - including copyright infringement and trademark infringement. And it's amazing that he openly admits to what he'd doing.

a while back i missed a dvd doing the rounds. with the various soul nights freebie cd's on it.

still looking for one if anyone can help
