Hi there

HELP PLEASE - Is this an original? (see scan)

I am a little confused to say the least, I have researched this record and am still non the wiser

Quotes from Soul Source members:

"The boot is white with green print the real one is green Diamond as usual"

Actually I have an ORIGINAL white with green writing demo as well as an original blue issue."

Cheers and thanks in advance for any help - Sue

I'm almost 99.99 % sure that's a boot. Most Diamond promos look like the regular issues with the "promotional

copy not for sale" on them.

Brown and Koppel mention a white label promo with green lettering as a bootleg

Yes it's the first boot (never noticed any problems with the sound quality though) there's a second one, a counterfeit which has fooled many many people over the years, they even went to the trouble of putting drill holes on many of them.

I have had both demos and that green one is a Boot sound quality is poor and large deadwax.

For Mr Prophonics 2029, I've got a white / green boot of Larry Hale "Once" here, in my own collection, I bought it in October 1976, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the sound quality at all. In fact I recorded it and posted it up so if you still insist it's poor quality, you can have a listen.

I will have a listen later Pete thanks. I thought when I got the white/green it was an original but I was much happier with an original blue demo.

I have always thought that the boot label of this looks more genuine than the original "diamond" label.

Weird I know and I can't think of any others like that off the top of my head.

Hence I will keep it for its looks as well as a great casino dancer that I've never heard played out for years.

 HI ALL, MUST HAVE NORTHERN SOUL, YES INDEED A FEW FIXES OF THE GREAT LARRY HALES ONCE.NOW AND AGAIN!

The pounding Brass Beat, got the CASINO into GEAR at 3.45am, and it pleases me that Pete still has his original copy as this is a true Wolverhampton Stomper, that's what I call all records with this BIG BEAT, some call it NORTHE SOUL, "GET HIP MAN!

My copy is DIANOND ISSUE, 2 Things about the record 1, it was considered for a $TATESIDE RELEASE?? 2, demos exist on the same label as the issue? oh 3, I once got confused about the BOBBY DIAMOND Record?? can you believe that???OK you can   DAVE
