Not too sure if this is the correct section - but radio 2's new album of the week is Mick Hucknall on the Ken Bruce show. Anyone else hear his version of Otis Clays - Turn Back The Hands Of Time ..................yesterday mid morning ?

Hi Nick,

Much as I love Otis Clay, surely we should never refer to this great song as anything other than Tyrone Davis' "Turn Back The Hands Of Time".

But no, I didn't hear it!

Was it any good? :D

Turn Back the Hands of Time

Quote MH - "Never got round to it until now" - did he copy the Dakar or the Elka cut or both cuts.

I'm sure there will be other versions as soul source always comes up trump's !

Saw his"Bobby Bland"tribute tour a few years ago, although he seems to alienate people more than he attracts them, the man can certainly wail.To quote Elton John"an artist only has so much adrenalin, that's when the best work comes"after that comes the American songbook and other"easy way out"material.

Coincidence! I got that very record through my letter box today Tim.

See what the B side is called? Although it's an instrumental version of The Beatles' "Come Together", on the record it's called...

SOUL BOWL !

Now, I usually agree with you but in this case I will have to disagree, it might SOUND good on your Jamaican pre, but there's not much duller than a white label, especially when you compare it to that nice UK Bamboo label...
