Mine tonight, ( to start off with), is this lovely record introduced to me by Mr and Mrs Trout who have the best taste in soul music, hope you all like it

Denise (Williams) and Lee is a nice record- well known and cheap too I believe ? I hope so anyway-I gave my copy to someone who admired it in Vienna! It falls into that catagory of records that no one played years ago, but now everyones old enough to appreiciate them?

just played this for the 3rd time

Freda Payne...i Hear Rumours.mp3

Deepest apologies:blush: -it's taken me two *^*!◊ı$% days to find the 45 :search: and it IS "The Stereos" on World not "The Saxons" which is what I have written down in itunes. wanker.gif I've given myself a good telling off. I still think there's another version though ? :)

Yep, it's nice and cheap but lovely nevertheless...one of those records I've known for yonks but didn't know what it was..I used to hang out with people who played this kind of stuff 20 years ago before it was popular like it is now cos everybody's getting too old to dance to up tempo..think they were just lazy that's why they liked it. Similarly Lou courtney, Carl Hall and those kind of "Parkers" sounds :(

and this

well anything by Sam Cooke is alright by me...lovely stuff :)

Beautiful version, so much nicer than Spyder Turner, first heard it at Steam Niter :):(

Another bit of British blue eyed soul I've had on the old record deck today.

"susan maughan i believe

Yes but not a patch on the Wade Flemons version.

Sorry but my "Reply" button's not working for some reason.

Here's one from me-The Saxons. I think there's another version?

I've had this by The Stereos. Can't remember the label but it was one of those moulded labels like Amy/Mala/Bell stuff. It's been a while since i heard it but this sounds exactly the same version. The same group ?

Tomo

TAKEN ME 4 HOURS TO GET MY HEAD ROUND DECODERS/ENCODERS AND DOWNLOADING APPLICATIONS BUT HOPEFULLY YOU'LL ENJOY THIS EDDIE HOLMAN TRACK WHICH IS AVAILABLE TO LISTEN TO ON SOULCLUB.

I got pretty sick of after toying with it for 4 hours too Moldie.

This ones a bit more amusing - listen to the lyrics very carefully - you'll even hear the C word in there.
