Got me thinking and as a relative newie that was not about back in the day or the daY before that, I have heard many a story of venues that people look back on and remember with lots of great memories,

Which venues that bring them great memories back from back in the day were running,

as in Wigan 73 to 81.

Would be great to see a list of all them from back then and which ones were the venues that was your favourites ?

Other clubs attended duckinfield rugby club, st Ives, Peterborough, Whitchurch, Birmingham all dayers, Yate, black bull on Sundays run by rod shard and Dave withers. One in town behind woolworths in an old Italian cafe ? Again run by Dave and rod. Cats whiskers burnley.

Angels burnley, cassinellis, Leeds central

All from 1972 till 1979/80

No mate.....it was a small local club, only went a couple of times when I was seeing a girl from Ashton...it'll come to me eventually!

Yeah, that's it!!

the moon changed its name to hiccups which was a disco pub in 1974-1976

then after it became hiccups night club when they got a licence till 2 am

and it was open monday-thursday-friday-sat until it changed its name to drifters night club in late 1979-1980

and then it finally closed its door in 1985 and then knocked down to make way for new morrisons supper market

that was a part of my life taken away from me when to club went was a regular there lived just 5 mins from it

Mine was Parr Hall Warrington in the 80's. Brilliant dance floor, dance hall and music. Was near the start of my discovery of Northern. Was only 15 and thought I'd found true love. Met brilliant people who have passed in and out of my life since and brings tears to my eyes thinking about it. Going back last week was great but also tinged with sadness because I'm now 43! and cos I'm 3 stone fatter! and cos I can no longer take what I took that made me think I could spin, so now I do a triangle kind of thing and try to stomp but stop half way through a song because of my knees, Malcolm wasn't there and it'd gone a bit posh round the corridors, and there was no queue outside, and someone was sat in mine and Reg's seat, but true to form, I met some new friends, some lovely ladies from Warrington who saved me from a night of harassment by some drunken bloke called Derek who is known as a sex pest! but even he was still more pleasant than other sex pests!

You are best sticking to your great 80s memories, seriously, its great you had a good night but these new nights on at the Parr Hall are real a handbaggers event, nothing to do in any way shape or form with the real soul nights back then, Ive been to a few of these new nights and agree, its sad, getting pestered by idiots like that tells you something, dont happen at 'proper' events does it? I dont bother with these new nights having been to a few. The good news is, theres plenty of great events around.

Vaguely remember going to hiccups although my brother and myself were from old Trafford we used to go to clubs with some of the duckinfield, staley bridge crowd John Hillel, Steve Riley, John Seymour, and a few I can't remember.

Yes Sid he worked with my brother at British gas that's how we got to know seedy ( john Seymour ) and his brother and John Hillel rich and all that crowd. He is on facebook if you do a search. He is an artist now paint and photography.
