Just been listening to Clarence Carter 'I Can't Leave Your Love Alone' (Atlantic - flip of 'Patches). Loved it for years, great crossover tune from 1970, nice horns and tempo changes.

Has it ever been played out on our scene? 

Superb track, been a favourite of mine for years also. 

Just love the way the horns harmonize in the chorus, gives me chills! 

Once heard it played out at a "Different Strokes" event in the back room at Radcliffe. 

Sounded amazing on that big sound system but as i recall, i was the only one dancing

I heard it out a few times over the years, but i think the tempo's just off for it to be danced to. It was a minor hit and can be picked up for about a £1, so not something that would attract the majority of DJ's. It would or already has gone down a storm at venues such as Majestic or Just Soul.

Saying that its been a firm favourite in my house for many years.

Rick Hall - Muscle Shoals - George Jackson penned and Clarences' vocals! What's not to like? As John rightly says too cheap for the majority to play. Their loss I say. CC's catalogue contains some absolute gems for the soul collector. 'Just Majestic Soul' indeed! 

Great tune, never cared for "A" side so neally miss buying but my copy has "I can't leave your love alone" label on both sides so had to have for novelty value.    

One of my first record buying trips aged 9 was to go down to the local record shop, Disco Ten in Shettleston Road Glasgow, to buy this record for my mother.

 Hi All This classic has turned many a head since 71 and still in 2013 many people who have great knowledge of SOUL, don't no it today, a great record that is guaranteed never to rise in price?  check them B sides PEEPS  DAVE K
