For all those listed I still have a great affection for the Top's version of "If I were a carpenter" Doesn't seem to resonate as much as the other great stuff.

Was there ever a bad song sung by the Four Tops?

I can remember listening to a late night pirate radio station in the mid 60's, and hearing Baby I need your loving for the first time, loved them then and still do now.

Heres some of my favourites.

Baby I need your loving - Just ask the lonely - I'm in a different world - what is a man - shake me wake me -Mcarthurs Park - Are you man enough - Keeper of the Castle, and the list goes on.

Levi was the best.

Levi Stubbs. The best ever. Even the name is the coolest. Ive told this before on here, I used to work with a guy who was into Robert Plant and the like. Anyway we were working a nightshift and I made him listen to the Four Tops all night and in particular Levis vocals. That guy is now into northern. That is the effect that Levi Stubbs had.

Had the great pleasure of working with the Tops at Club Fiesta in Stockton. Levi Stubbs absolute gentleman and fabulous guy. Greatest voice and sadly missed.

FANTASTIC AND WILL ALWAYS BE MY NUMBER 1, the list is endless,   but,,,,ask the lonely ,,,,,,,,,,,,,spine and shivers,,,,,,,
