So is this them? There are 7 of them and I presume that the guy in-between the females is Frankie Karl?

Frankie Karl was in the stage show Hair in the late 60,s ( I think). There is a piccie of him in that. Google may confirm. Nice photo that!

I always thought this was some kind of studio created group.  

Picture doesn't show Frankie Karl & Chevrons/7th Avenue Aviators but the gospel group Cogic Singers. Frankie is bottom left, bottom right Billy Preston, Gloria Jones far right (all info c/o indangerousrhythm.blogspot.com)
