Guest soul_hull Posted July 1, 2006 Share Posted July 1, 2006 first time in their new venue - good move, better venue, cheap beer, good dancefloor and only a couple of minutes outside the town centre. i got there about 10-ish - plenty people in then (about 40) and i reckon about seventy by the end. at one point the dancefloor had nothing but females on it - about 7 or 8 - how unusual is that? some younger ones too (sound like a perv there) but GREAT to see some younger people taking a real interest. good range of music. i spoke to one of the DJs, who follows events and the scene closely, and he confessed that that they would be catering to the crowd in front of them, rather than playing the latest tracks from the scene - a wise move in my opinion. (see my other review on this board!!!!!) a good mix of well-known 60s and 70s stuff - a really good night actually, friendly atmosphere, plenty people in, cheap beer, good dancefloor, great music.
