Gregg passed away peacefully in Spain yesterday. He was only 53, and it seems like only yesterday that I was buying records off him at The Windmill, Rotherham on a Sunday night in 1979. Great nights at the Casino & Cleethorpes. From that day on we have been the best of mates always meeting at either Sheffield Wednesday games or soul nights or just socially. He came over from Spain for the Clifton Hall reunion earlier this year, and met a lot of his old mates. Loved him to bits and will miss him so much. My deepest sympathy to Lea, Jodie , Taylor and other loved ones. See you later son.

So sad to hear this awful news. Myself, John Hurst, John Keenan, Steve Simpson, Richard Baker, Glyn Teasdale plus so many others were great mates with Gregg & his dad Mick through our mutual love of Northern Soul & Sheffield Wednesday FC.

Crikey that's come as a shock.

I was at school with Gregg in the 70's I remember fondly listening to records at his house after trips to Sound Of Music etc in Rotherham..

 very sad news - Memories of Gregg from way back in the day - great collection with a good ear  - thinking back with Gregg going to Rotherham  on a Sunday morning after a night out at that infamous Lancashire all night disco (circa 77/78 ) to pick a  long wants up ? The Bob and Earl  Band  MLG  on Jayboy - always to this day reminded me of Gregg !!!

I met Gregg  when I was 15 years old through our love of Northern Soul . We enjoyed lots of laughs  and had great times with all of our friends . We married at the age of 19 , very happy times . Gregg loved buying his soul sounds from a young age and had a fab record collection , which cost a bloody fortune .  We had a beautiful daughter Jodie , who has grown up  to be a fine young women.  We did marry too young and sadly we divorced  when  Jodie was a baby . Both our lives went on different  paths , but we remained friends . Gregg  went on to marry 2 others , he did like wedding cake ! but then met and  married Lea , a lovely  women  who made him so happy  and they had a beautiful son . At last  Gregg had found true happiness . My love and thoughts are sent to  Lea , taylor , Xenia . Mick and steph  and to our beautiful  daughter Jodie xxx

Remember dancing to our favourite sound  , Stick By Me Baby ( Salvador's )   , keep dancing  up in heaven Gregg 

Gregg you will always  remain in my heart and thoughts  . RIP  GREGG  xxx

So sad at 53..........same age as me, and many more on here from that 'era'. Has any member got a picture of Gregg to post, I'm sure I must have met him in his early days.

Said goodbye to my old mate in Spain last Thursday. Around a hundred made the trip, with many more unable to make it at short notice. There is going to be a memorial service in the Uk for those who could not make the journey. What this lad packed into 53 years, most of us will never achieve in a lifetime. Started at Jenkins Rotherham as a plater Welder and on his incredible journey he started 2 companies from scratch, THINC Group and WHAT insure, and was a top player in the City of London. He never forgot his roots and the longer he spent down South the more Northern he became. A true one off who will never be forgot.
