That's bloody great. I'd love to know what that is, if you find out Dave.

Doesn't sound like Coffey to me. His stuff tends to have much more structure and discipline.

OK a few have heard it and it has been suggested that it sound like Denis Coffey on guitar and Lyman Woodard on organ. Parts of it remind me of The US on Jaber records.

Groovy Baby............Elements of early Funkadelic but not them could be close with DC though...

I will, so far it has stumped some of the best funk collectors in the States and here, but will up date

Reminds me  of Black Merda (which has the Detroit connection). Then again there were a host of groups  creating this type of sound.

sounds like early Funkadelic - like something off 'Free Your Mind' with the dubbed-out vocals - also reminds me a bit of that Organgrinder record on Black Rock ( which is a Black Merda thing )

Definitely reminds me of Funkadelic right off the bat. Cool stuff, wish I could help!

Cool track - if you're feeling brave you could ask on the Waxidermy message board, sounds like the kind of thing Dante or the Memphix lads would know about...

Already spoken to many of these guys via emails and it still stumping everyone. Also had a fair few willing to take it off my hands, as they say it's of little use to me and right up their street !!!!!!!!!

So sure, anyone who's got a copy of Love Company - Love tempo - SRO, it's yours

Whoever it is, definitely sounds like they are trying to emulate the sound of Funkadelic's "Maggot Brain / Free Your Mind" albums.  However, I don't think it's them.  Guitar playing doesn't sound like Eddie Hazel (who would have been lead) and they didn't really add horns into the mix till later on.

Norman Whitfield was known to record Funkadelic live and try to emulate them.  Possibly something he produced?  Unreleased Undisputed Truth?

That is most excellent Dave, no idea who it is though the horns are definitely too sophisticated for early Funkadelic though way before the influence of Maceo and Friendly Fred et al..............

Great record.

In my opinion more likely to be a psych or acid rock group than a 'funk' group so if I were you I would start looking in that 'area' first.
