As the collective hive mind should have recovered from the extended weekend: can anyone guide me on this one?

It was booted at least four times during the 70s, and these are the ones I know to be boots:

1. Styrene pressing, dark blue label. Split-second missing from start of "We're So Lonely".

2. Styrene pressing, white label, no lines, large run-out area, appalling sound quality (low-fi). Again, a split-second missing from start of "We're So Lonely".

3. Vinyl pressing, light blue label (exactly the same label as the original and an excellent lookalike), but with a very narrow run-out on the A-side

4. Vinyl pressing with a bevelled edge, blue label, no lines, completely different typeface.

The blue label original resembles No. 3 above, but should have a faint 'Bell Sound' or similar stamp and a run-out area of about 1".  Also issued with two different yellow labels (lined and unlined).  This was never booted with a yellow label.

Hope this helps as a starter.

That's the one you have to watch out for, really tough to tell, many people will sell both as the wrong type without knowing it.

times the giveaway if in doubt, am always amazed that people copy things, so how can they get the time wrong Boot is 2:01. Org is 2:35 - so where's the 34 seconds gone - the plot thickens ?

Bloody 'ell - never noticed that!  The B-side "We're So Lonely" was only 2:01 long, so looks like part of the label for the boot was iaken from the B-side label for some weird reason.

Mine doesn't fit any of the four descriptions - Same light blue but 'Uptite' is italic lower case not caps (different to yellow one).

Guess it's a 70's boot (had it since then)

At least … the 2.35 is correct

That's the one Daz - the one I referred to in No. 4 of the boots.  Does it have a bevelled edge?

your spot on there just bought one online sold as original

,its going back as not real,like you say it every well done.2.01 run time ,narrow run out on a side,no faint stamp in run out,

not beveled on the run in tho, moulded vinyl.looks convincing.

waiting to hear back from the seller as we speak.

so will see. buyer beware!!
