October 21, 20159 yr I'd start with Jim Russell's - loads of 45s and vinyl.... 1837 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70130, United States+1 504-522-2602https://www.facebook.com/Jim-Russell-Records-182325954704/I spent 2 days in there when I went! That was a number of years ago now, but you should turn up bits in there. Good luck! Rich

October 21, 20159 yr Was there two weeks back - seems to be permanently closed RichThat's a real shame. Was great in there and they looked after you while you were there. Was it derelict or just closed??R
October 22, 20159 yr Yes, that is a shame if Jims has ceased trading. Had some great stuff out of there.Jim Russell is legend in New Orleans. Before his store he was a Radio DJ, in the sixties. He once barricaded himself in the station (Shawshank style) as the station wanted to stop him from playing 'race music'.He had many great tales to tell and even introduced me to the Dixie Cups once in the store.Sean
October 22, 20159 yr Jim Russell's was an awesome place indeed... not much else that compares to it ...You might want to give Euclid Records a shot it's on the corner of Chartres and Piety st. (grab a cab from downtown) and if you get hungry while digging there's a great pizza shack next door called "Pizza Delicious". Cross Chartres to Crescent Park and get an amazing view of the city ! I used to live there and still go back once a year, pm me if you need good tips on food-drinks etc ... i'd be glad to help out

October 22, 20159 yr Jim Russell's looked shut for good in 2013, it reopened briefly in 2014 but is closed up again at the moment. The spots to hit are Euclid, Domino & LMF. (in that order)
October 25, 20159 yr Author Thanks everyone for the advice, I will try Jim Russell's ( fingers crossed) and definitely Euclid records
