I found this 45 on Jupiter by the Pips featuring Gladys Knight and can not find anything on it.  Could this be considered a norther soul record and/or more info on the label etc.

I attached a short clip. I would put the whole song up, but my volume keeps going to mute.  If someone has a fix for this I would be grateful.

Northern Soul.... Just a record played at a NS venue. It isn't a genre.

Thanks chalky.  I noticed the date on the LP(1965)  Do you think the Jupiter release is this old?

I think couple of years earlier as looking it up it I've seen it on a CD of the Fire and Fury labels.  Can't see it on any listings though after a quick look?

Don;'t know anything about the Jupiter release, something doesn't look right with it???  The Lp has a different credit for the writer?

A 70s pressing of an older track, designed I assume to cash in on the popularity of Gladys.

I believe that song was recorded in late 1961 or early 1962 for Bobby and Danny Robinson's Fury Records.  That album has their Fury cuts.

It should. It was released in 1977, as noted by its "P77" dating.  I suspect that it wasn't pressed up by Bobby Robinson, and so, was a bootleg.

It is a 70s pressing as there is a date in the dead wax of 12/23/77. 

Why would they bootleg this?

I guess as Steve alluded, to cash in on the success of the group at the time.

I can't imagine them getting much cash from this release.  The flip side is ''I can't stand by''.  Is this on that LP also?  If this is a 'boot' then I don't think there are any other releases on this Jupiter label.
