It may remain unknown if we don't get to hear it,or have I missed something

Tried to download sound file recorded on my phone as video but file too large. I am working on it.

Wow!  That's really good!   "(Girl) You Should Have Been A Man" ?  It reminds me of some of the 1980s songs we heard while we were doing our thing at Airwave Records.

I got it from a batch I bought off one of my friends recent trip to the states,the seller in the states did not know who it was either,i think it is really good too,thankyou Robbk.

Maybe the powers that be could merge the two threads on this , pointless and confusing to be running identically titled/themed threads concurrently ...

Hiya,  yes it's Sam, you should have been a man.  I'm sure I've heard / seen this before, maybe by another artist. Thinking its a  B side to something.  May have a look through my records.   Cheers

It's by Rozay called "Sam" on ISP from Detroit - early '80's.

I have one for sale at £10 if anyone interested..(now sold)

Just as I guessed, early '80's, right during the heyday of Airwave.  And a Detroit record, too!

It is truelly, a fine piece of music.

Now we know who it is, and we all agree it's a nice tune, does anyone have any thoughts about an alternative version? The song is really familiar but I  know I don't have a copy of this version.

You didn't put it on a cassette for me once upon a time did you Robin?

I might well have done Rich! I have had it a very long time - possibly reviewed in Blackbeat as well? Something makes me think it may have got a play or two at Cleethorpes but I'm not 100% on that. I don't know of any other version. Hope things are good with you Richard.
