By way of a change I thought that I’d make myself a compilation of Stax/Atlantic type sounds a la Sam & Dave, Wilson Pickett, Solomon Burke etc.

I’m having a lack of imagination problem however so any suggestions of mid to uptempo sounds in that vein would be extremely welcome.

Thanks in advance for any help.

About 1978, I bought this 'blind' along with Mel Torme 'Coming Home' from Reg Williams/Malc Burton at a Wath all dayer for 50 p each.

Happy days indeed but never heard this great tune played out.

A true hard soul record!

Regularly played out on the Scottish nighter scene in the 80’s my friend - definitely seperates the men from the boys on the floor !!!

Hard as nails.

Arthur Conley was always so much more than just Sweet Soul Music and Funky Street. Great voice, some cracking tracks, and very underrated indeed.

Agree totally. Another Arthur C favourite. Most cheap as chips. Hope they fit the required category !  Taff.
