Yes, Richard. Was in sixth form with him.

Stopped going by '72.

Went to Rugby club a few times.

Poco Poco in Stockport ran a night on a Sunday as well which was more or less Wheel records so went there too as closer than Ashton.

Pendulem now and again when on Hardman St but regular at MSG.

Never knew the Poco ran a session only lived 5 mins away in heaton chapel kicking myself now 😁

Boston spa youth club in the late 70,s. 11 yrs old dancing like a looney to Wait a Minute by Tim Tam and the Turn Ons . Dj gave me the record, got me hooked. Dancing  like a looney to everything ever since.

Hugh

Ed, you might know Nip larner, & Terry lorriman who used to bring some of my early northern records back from various places including the casino I think in the late 70s as I think they used to frequent Gainsborough youth clubs at the time ?

Neal.

That should have said Conisborough not Gainsborough ( bloody predictive text ) !

The Place and Windmill youth clubs were 75% northern soul, as were Warmsworth and Elmfield house.

There was even a budget set from the youth leader to buy tracks.

But the track I listed got all the punks up as well!

Definitely some 'bigger boys' brought records back from the clubs and even guest dj'd

Biggest rare track at the time was this;
