Sam Gooden passed away at home in Chattanooga with his family around him on thursday.

A man who was loved by many, a very gentle person and great guy to know.

'Legendary singer and entertainer, Sam Gooden of the world famous Impressions, passed away peacefully Thursday morning August 4, 2022, surrounded by family. There will be a private memorial at a later date.

Sam Gooden, an original member of the Impressions, and a 1991 inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has died just a month shy of his 88th birthday.'

Its been a bad week for losing greats of soul music...saw Impressions live in 2012 at Jazz Cafe....the harmonies, kicked off by Sam that night, are the best I have ever heard from a live act...RIP..

What a vocal grouo. Beautiful, positive music. Those harmonies. Thank you.
