Can anyone remember, there were lots of those Ila Vanns in Wigan Casino record bar for about £3 each. I bought at least three copies at that time. Although it was only a few years old then!

Someone got the Jesse Fisher for a decent price, as it was the white and red label W104A3 issue and is a better clear cut/recording than the multicoloured label copies!

There's two different mixes and the difference can be told appart from the right or the wrong spelling in the title 'you're' or 'your'. That regardless of the old or new labels designs. FWIW the wrongly spelt title is the first and more like saturated mix. My preference as it gives it that 'energy' edge that suits best the song and Jesse's tense singing IMHO. Others go for the "quieter" mix with separation of Jesse's singing from the music ; the rarer corrected title.

Who cares about the prices - they’re nothing compared to the mess the economy is in. Hats off to the Bard of Melton Mowbray - John has become a full-time author, and now focuses on writing record descriptions for the next lavishly illustrated book. Come on John and please tell us when all the record auctions will be compiled into a glossy book - I’ll gladly proof-read it for a free copy...

Yes but naturally he writes from his own point of view. His recollections and opinions of a record/venue will not be the same as someone else's.

True, as is the case for anyone writing about anything... John’s recollections are worth reading because they are John’s recollections from back in the day and interpretations of the current scene. I’m happy reading about a diverse array of perceptions on Soul-Source including John’s somewhat hyped-up sales pitches couched in factual historical detail. The amount of text John has written could be bound into a volume worth reading in my humble opinion. I only went to Cleethorpes once and my memories become even more vivid when I read about the records spun there.

Phil Terrell & Mike Vickers are at prices I think you could buy at set sale or even cheaper.

I thought Phil Terrell was very cheap really, no sense to these final sale prices is there...

On another note, no, not the economy, I cannot deal with that SNAFU!  Did anybody see what 'We The People - Ain't No Way' went for on Tim Brown's auction?
