(Any west coast promo on the Atlantic label is likely to be the one to have, no different with this Wigan monster. I was selling red and white promos for 175 in 2017, this is a bargain IMO)

Tony Drake – Suddenly – Brunswick 55437 Ex £325

(Superb crossover on a prolific major label, that had some tope people work on it, Barbara Acklin, Eugene Record, Willie Henderson and Tom Tom Washington, wow and who’s who! Very minor ring wear on label)

Lee David – Temptation is calling my name – Columbia 44318 Ex+ £350 SOLD

(Gorgeous Red stock copy, right up there as one of the most distinguished 45s on the scene, sensational track)

Danny White – Cracked up over you – Decca 32048 Promo M- £120 SOLD

(Absolute classic penned by Don Bryant. Rarer pink promo, another beaut)

Lee Bates – Why don’t you write – Instant 3310 Ex+ £300

(Just the most fabulous piece of NOLA Soul, this is how you make a Vietnam song hit home, exquisite vocals, horns, piano and elevated girly backing, all components of taking this to another level)

David & Ruben – (I love her so much) it hurts me – Rampart 662 WD M- £600

(As nice as the plum and yellow Lindas are, after the blue Rampart stock copy this is the next rarest format. Outstanding Latin tinged, horn filled dancer, ever popular)

Insiders – I’m just a man – RCA 9225 WD M- £80

(The RCA label churned out some wonderful Northern tracks, this double sider a lesser known but a great addition to any play box)

Chuck Wood – Seven days too long – Roulette 4754 M- £120

(Right up there in my favourites list, specially on the road, but cause over acceleration! This copies another beaut)

Jimmy McFarland – Lonely lover – RPR 108 WD Ex £350 SOLD

(Hollywood label, Jobete Music Co. brilliance and a cover of Marvin Gaye’s unreleased Motown monster, and it appears to be his only release. Red X in circle on top label, quite common on the demo)

Appreciations – She never really loved me – Sport 108 WD M- £120

(Masterful Detroit shuffler, looks so cool on the demo, 15 cent stamp on label, don’t we all wish they could still be that now!)

Soundbreakers – Trying to get back to you – Symbol 220 WD M- £200

(Symbol is a division of Sue Records, but the credits aren’t familiar to me, but what a great job these guys did on this NY group soul dancer, that become less available in sales over the years. 2 XOL)

Eddie Hill – You got the best of me – Thelma 105 WD Ex+ £350

(Rare Detroit white demo, superb R&B influenced dancer. Small mark on vinyl causes very light pops for handful of revolutions, but does not undermine the loud and clear playback)

Tony Talent – Gotta tell somebody (about my baby) – Vando 3001 WD M- £50

(Van McCoy multi-tasking on writing, arrangement, production, making the tea etc. etc. the only hallmark of class needed for this great dancer. Nice on demo)

Lollipops – Cheating is telling on you – V.I.P. 25051 WD M- £50

(I’d categorise this as femme crossover, and fine piece of music it is too. Not so common, and nice on white demo. Very slight edge lift does not affect play)

Grace Love & True Loves – Fire – We Coast 008 M- £250

(Sassy femme dancer, with a hint of R&B. 2015 release, original with correct matrix numbers)
