Has anyone ever tried to fill the hole in due to it being in the run out ? 

Yeah use a black plastic glue that dries shiny,put tape on  one side,offer the glue in,wipe flush,let it dry maybe half hour then pull the tape off!

This one had the hole in the run out. Did similar to Dobber. It would have been a defo needle snapper. 

Love to hear these type of repairs , whether warps or label abuse , have deliberately bought damaged records over the years , with an idea that maybe a winner & work and restore to at least 75% .

 

Yeah I got Kell Osborne quicksand for £15 with a big lump of run in missing,I took it to work and fixed it,played perfectly after that!

Depending on how big the "big lump missing" was, would that make it a 90% OVO record and would it indeed be playable at an all OVO event??? 🤣

A few years back , bought a copy of a popular and a brand new 45 from the States , when I took it out of its sleeve for the 1st time and put it onto the decks , after 2 or 3 revolutions it was pretty obvious it was knackered and immediately threw the arm and stylus into the air and skated across the vinyl , tried a record sleeve underneath the record and it played but not all the way .

So I experimented by cutting a perfectly cylindrical spacer to match the warp / dish using the type of very thin foam packing used in most household products and hey presto , sometimes maybe one or two required , but it worked , kinda like a 6 inch ring of foam about 1 inch wide , 1/16th or 1/8 th of an inch thick , or two if needed , because the centre of the record is flat and the vinyl is warped or dished packing is only required from the middle to outer edge of the record , so a paper sleeve which is the same thickness  throughout scientifically cant work , 

I will try and post one in action , won't cost you a penny , and fits perfectly with any warped or dished record in its sleeve ready when needed .

Interesting, like I guess many others I tried all sorts to 'fix' 45s without that much luck, though am sure that I once saw a advert online for a turntable purely made/designed to play warped 45s, thought was a bit of a overkill but...
