Hi Joan

One of my all time favourite groups, The Marvelettes.

I was listening to this in the car, the other day. (The Marvelettes Deliver The Singles CD)

"I'll Keep Holding On", has to be one of the best recordings Motown ever made,

by a group that lived in the shadow of The Supremes as regards the Chart Success.

The Quality of all of The Marvelettes stuff, stunning.

Totally agree Roger... Motown is just fab.

A wise man called Robbo once said... "without Motown... we'd be f**ked..." ... he was right

Hi Mel

Your comment about "just one hearing" suddenly reminded me of that feeling when you hear one of these gotta have records for the first time.

They are now classics but remembering that feeling of, where can I get a copy, what label is it on etc.

The amount of times I have left a Venue carrying in my mind a List of wants that I didn't have a clue about when I walked in.

That Instant appeal that most of these records have, but the despair of owning a copy ...... soon,

not like you can pop down to the local record shop. Oh Happy Days of collecting, still happens from time to time, but the wealth of sounds in the Early days, and no Internet to search.

Great days Roger

I know you cant turn back the hands of time but man just think if we could....I would love to go back to the early/mid 70's when the scene was the scene..For me anyway and as you so rightly say when a record made the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end.

Keep on keeping on mate

mel

Joan ... This was the very record that prompted those wise words !!

Seriously though - this is Micky Stevenson and Jo Hunter at their very best - It's a Detroit masterpiece!
