John Reed Posted June 29, 2007 Share Posted June 29, 2007 An anorak question. I've been burning some mp3's tonight and I was going through some Polydor demo's. Does anyone know why Polydor had double sided demo's such as Steeplechase - Never Coming Back/Lady Bright in 1970. Then went to Single sided demo's such as Pep Brown - I'm The One Who Needs You in 1973 and back to double sided demo's such as Gaslight - Just Because Of You/It's Just Like Magic in 1975. I know they were a big company (so possibly no one will know the answer), with multiple music styles, which to me is strange as big companies always like consistency. CONTRARY TO POPULAR BELIEF THE MAJOR LABELS, ESPECIALLY IN THE 70'TS USED VARIOUS LABEL COUPLE-INGS TO PROMOTE THERE 45'S, IE DOUBLE/DUEL 45'S, SINGLE SIDED DEMO,S AND WHATEVER. BRI.
