Hi all,

Just wanted a few suggestions for some good eighties tunes I might have missed out on. By eighties tunes, I don't mean one-off seven-inch obscurities on minor labels out of Texas, I mean major label releases that I might stand a chance of getting hold of and,who knows, one day might fetch big cash - once the obsession for seventies releases dies down that is!

Lp Vaneese Thomas "Vaneese" Geffen 1987

I have always thought this was a cracking "mainstream" '80's soul album . Does anyone know if it has ever recieved a cd release ?

Not that I know of Alan, but it's possible. If it did, it's probably one of those hard to find 80s CDs where not many were issued. As you say, it's a cracking LP.

It was daft that the best track from the sessions that spawned this album 'Love In Your Eyes' never actually made it on the album but only got released on the b-side of a 7 and 12.

Good 80's soul on Kashifs most recent (?) cd from a year or so back, one side all new stuff and one side the Rumours album from the 80's with great examples of how good some 80's soul was, still available on cdbaby.

Mind you probably easily available on original vinyl too but dont want to start that debate again do we

Cheers
