apart from the blatant shill bids on there to get it up to £49, the £49 bidder appears to buy patches like they are going out of fashion (oh, they already have? oh, nobody told him that), and apart from a couple of wigan comps, he's got himself a tweed jacket and a lay-z 4-seater spa.

i can picture him now, 'best of the casino' blaring out of his portable cd player, tweed jacked covered in patches, no trousers on, waving his waist around with his legs knee deep in water and foam, doing synchronised handclaps to 'the joker' to impress his dinner party guests... i hope i get invited :wicked:

Novelty patches,

novelty badges,

novelty number plates,

novelty fashion - baggy trousers, cornish pastie shoes, etc,

novelty accesories - watches, cufflinks, etc,

novelty nik naks - birthday cards etc,

novelty events in shopping centres & funny shaped towers,

novelty top 500 books (issue 27 in a shop near you soon),

Does anybody buy records any more?

Now thats a novel idea.

i think the geezer that won the patch better be watching his back, the person he was bidding against also buys patches, and has also bought an army issue parka and a book on terrorism. this patch shit is getting a bit heavy nowadays, wouldn't be surprised if someone gets popped soon over this...

I think your observations are right, its amazing what people buy on ebay and if the items are still viewable to all and sundry (who are ebay members) and able to check the history its bordering 'invasion of privacy'.

It must be great for criminals, tax inspectors, and record dealers to check what activity bayers get up to, so they can rob the house, send a tax bill, or over-inflate record prices.

Guest Jimmy Scriv

The Whole Dam Worlds Gone Crazy, I collect Soul and Motown Sheet Music but limit myself to £20 tops but last week The Marvellettes 'My Baby Must be a Magician' and Martha and Vandellas 'You've Been in Love to Long' went for £168 and £176 respectively!

Jimmy Scriv - how much for that Mecca badge? Only joking. I can recall being part of the habit/religion that toured the country with de-rigeuer bag adorned with badges, in a different century. That bag was savagely attacked one night whilst amongst a pile of similar bags on the casino stage, and was stripped of quite a few teenage sewn-on treasures (was hard work getting that needle through the pvc). If the thief is reading this, can I have 'em back now please, I want to put them on ebay! The fav missing one was a Dukeries Soul Club badge with an oak tree in the middle - probably only means something to local Mansfield/Notts. Me thinks the crime has now been promoted from petty theft to grand larceny!

Planning my retirement I'm gonna look into producing some white demo badges of The Attic (semi-known) and pin my financial future on that being fashionable!

I do have several bottles of Wigan Casino air if anyone's interested?
