Posted August 25, 200816 yr Would anyone agree with me that this is Northern. Gregory Washington - Tea And Understanding - BRAINSTORM 169. Also, cant help thinking I heard Rob Smith play this at Brid weekend 2007. Am I right? (refo sound byte below)
August 25, 200816 yr I quite liked it but the recording quality is terrible, would like to hear a good recording
August 25, 200816 yr I bought this record off Ady Pountain for £3 some 20 odd years ago, I liked the sound of it then, still do, wouldn't have ever dreamed of playing it out though.

August 25, 200816 yr Some nice horns especially halfway through when it gets going a bit. If I stuck on a Northern Soul CD I'd probably put it on as the last track (being a bit sluggish). I'd buy it if it was cheap enough cos I like the horn work.

Also thanks Boba for the info

August 26, 200816 yr i think i remember liking the flip better, "pamela lamour." Yo're right Matt - decent funk instrumental - but equally terrible recording or pressing as I recall. Anyway, I thought we were supposed to flip old fogotten Northern sounds to uncover funk gems - not the other way round

Also thanks Boba for the info Know what you mean about having a thing for odd-ball instro's, so many were pushed onto the Northern scene LPs when I was just getting into it:- Grapevine's, Destiny, Jumping at the go-go, Capital Soul Casino.
