production messy as anything but i bet it sounds good ramped up full at an allnighter

Frank Giacobbe has championed this 45 for a long time so it's good to see others adding it to their sets. It's pretty tough to find and sounds great out. I had one which went to a very good home about three years ago.

Why is it these crappy recordings (IMO) always seem to be the ones that others rave about and fetch hundreds / thousands of pounds?

yeah, good luck with that seller les harris, one of the worst on ebay, his vg is like fair and he ships 45 INSIDE LPS, like he tapes the 45 to the LP, puts it inside the sleeve, writes an address on it, and mails it with no additional padding.

Just read through his feedback, and even though 98,9% is positive, it´s still a lot of feedback mentioning overgrading. I´ll keep you posted. If it arrives that is...

Your entitled to your opinion of course, but thats exactly all it is, your opinion, I wouldnt give a flying fig if it was 5p I like it & that is all that matters, just cos you think its a crappy recording, doesnt mean it actually is a crappy rcording.

Just listened again, yes its messy, but a real Allnighter record IMO & probably sounds far better, bangin' out over a massive system.

hopefully he will be more careful with more expensive titles (and shipping overseas), that was just my experience with his cheaper titles. He has another user id with much lower feedback. I hope it works out for you, I like the sweet side (who can I turn to) but even that is sort of 'messy' sounding, still a nice record though.

But a record that sounds great played out and loud will not necessarily always sound great at home. And at the end of the day, why are you buying records? To be played out or at home? For other people, or for yourself?

I collect all kinds of soul records from all genres & decades, when it comes to NS some are deffo more for the dancefloor & as I DJ occasionally I am not just buying records to listen to at home, I would never ever buy a record I personally didnt like to DJ with or otherwise, but some dance records sound better at a venue, especially when you've got ya gear ears on.............crazy but true .

It arrived today, without water damage from Ike. The Primes 5 was OK, and correctly graded, even though the symphony orchestra 45´s were in better nick. All in all OK though.
