Walkin' too Wolverhampton from whitchurch nighter in two foot of snow cause no busses sunday morning,i thumbed a lift for about 6 or 7 of us in a ford capri i sat rear gunner skinnin' up on the back shelf my ex plonked on someones knee in the front seat,Jumpin'Joan was with us and Chris Jones i think,the driver and his pasenger where propper geezers the full lenth crombie look streight outa' gangsta' moovie.......wwhhhhhooooo!!,it got wiereder the driver geezer slaps on a tape....childrens storys then another and another,fookin' great stoned.

he famously visited an alnighter down south way and religiously kept to the white line in the middle of the road all the way there

Remember 4 of us going to St Ives in a Fiat 126, all 6ft plus, now that was a tight squeeze in something that was as fast as a tortoise on valium....

Yep, I definately remember travelling in that to Wigan on a Saturday after goin to the oldies on Friday and stopping over somewhere that way on - funnily enough, can't remember who or where, all I can remember is I was with Phil Joss at the time, and he said he'd arranged a lift.....and there was the Reliant Robin....! actually it seemed to go a lot faster than I thought it would .lol.

Six of us went to St Ives in an orange mini once - from Spilsby in Lincs. That was a squeeze.

In the mid 80's my mate Terry was a chimney sweep. There were a few occasions where we had no option but to go to niters in his sweeps van. The front was ok cos it had a partition behind the two front seats. Remember one night we were in a hurry so we just put a large mat over some bags of soot in the back. We set off for Leicester Odd Fellows and picked up to girls from Louth on the way - who had to get in the back of the van. They weren't best pleased but we told em we'd swept it out.

Got to Leicester and opened up the back door to let the girls out - they were fooking black from head to toe! Apart from to white rings around their eyes. One of em had a new white dress on - they went fookin loopy.

They were ok after I bought them shed loads of gear!

The 1st car we ever went to a Northern Soul venue was a Ford Popular, only had three gears and lorries were

overtaking us. It had those vacuum driven windscreen wipers that used to slow down when going up a hill

It took so long to get from south London to Blackpool we took in turns to sleep on the back seat

Remember goin Wigan on numerous occasions in my mates dads Hillman Minx.Trouble was his dad didnt know. We used to wait while hed come back from the local con club and gone to bed pissed up and then my mate Grevs used to nick his car keys. There was always a nervous drive home at top speed from the Casino back to Blackburn wizzing our tits off still, hoping hed not got up yet and gone to the garage to get the car. The garage was a lock up across the street. This went on for weeks....we had it off to a tee. One week his dad took the battery off to charge up. I dont know where from, but Grevs got another battery on the saturday afternoon and everything was going to be allright. "We,ll just do the same routine it will be a peice of piss" says he. Anyway his dad goes to bed and we go to the garage, get the said battery and proceed to put it on the car. Its only the wrong size and has got different terminals. "No probs" says Grevs "well just use 2 pairs of mole grips to connect the connections together." On the way back, wizzing our tits off a police car followed us all the way from Chorley for a good few miles and then turned off. We were shitting ourselves.....ysee, Grevs hadnt passed his test.

WE drove from Poole, Dorset to Wigan Casino in a 3-wheel Robin Reliant, there was about 6 or 7 of us on that journey

The driver was a guy named 'Smiler'. dont know his real name (Steve Carter on here will be able to give that). We picked up two girls on the way from the Stroud/Glouster area. Memory is hazy but i do remember one of the girls had a big tattoo on her back (not very common for girls back then). Smiler's girlfriend of the time was with us (louisa), and a bloke named Andy Cole. That's as far as my memory goes!

And we made it back again the next day - all with no problems with the car
