Rave ups like Small Faces "Almost Grown" and The Quik's "Bert's Apple Crumble" or funky soul perhaps with some flute in the vain of Jackie Mitoo, Lee Arab and Jimmy McGriff. Thoughts? Never heard it before. Brilliant. Haven't found King Midas & The Shufflers yet. I have a couple Jimmy Smith compilations on CD but I'll be adding that to my vinyl list. I've known the Toussaint McCall track for a few years but never knew who performed it so thanks for that. A big thanks to Godzilla for the link. That's a great website for information. Samba Patrol by the Stereophonic Space Sound Unlimited. It's a recent tune but well work checking out. Affraid it is a rare thing, yet it might be in refo-soul. For a quick listen/ oh and another powerhouse listen for the hammond enthusiastsis Billy Prestons version of "in the Midnight hour". Detroit City Limits - 98 cents plus tax on Okeh - great deep organ sound Drippers - Honey Bunch - on moon shot Hank Blackman - Itchy Koo - Like Oo Ma Liddi by JJ Jackson but with different words & great Hammond! James Brown - Who's afraid of the Virginia Woolf (on Smash)& Choo Choo (which is B side of Prisoner of love on King records) are 2 istrumental tracks featuring James brown on organ Junior Walker - Brainwasher - great organ & sax stuff on here Brian Auger, Julie Driscoll & The Trinity are worth checking out for some great Hammond stuff Hope this helps Link to comment Social source share More sharing options...
