some neat moves there, i cant even stand still with rollers on, never mind dancing

If you Skate'n'Dance to a quite fast and frantic tune you may get away with it. Well, it does look a bit like the good shuffling style then! Mind you, dj'ing is a bit of a bugger I can tell you !!!

I'll stick with the talc myself.

Have to admit it does look good  I'm astounded that I've never heard that track before!!!

skates should be worn everywhere!

must dig mine out for next time I'm allowed to play out

Me neither. It sounds like a Ric-Tic type thing. Who is it?

Just had a thought Macca......did you never go to the Wirrina on a Saturday night and don the foot wheels mate (not not The Phoenix do's)

That was my much missed mucker Mark Draycott. He donned the skates & a witch's hat he found while rummaging in the dressing rooms upstairs and approached a bewildered brian rae and requested a record for me & my then girlfriend, it was probably around 6am. We cracked up, but a lot of people in there took it badly, due to the over ingestion of this and that, if you know what I mean.

Expected of Mr Draycott

Ooh this brings back painful memories!

We had an old cinema in Hull that turned into an under eighteens disco on a Sunday called "Wally's". Hull's Northernsoul Boys and girls would frequently pop in as Northern was played, I remember Peggy Scott "You got it all" being played almost on a loop?

Later Wally's was converted to a roller disco and my "Cool Crown" was taken from me as my skating ability was shat to say the least!

Roller Disco took off for a couple of years but there was such a chasm between those who could skate and those, like me, who just looked like a spaz!

Isn't there a Roller all-nighter in Derby ? (every month ?)

I dunno Rob ..I used to ice skate at sutton centre or roller skate at the dukeries ( where I used to work) every saturday

I can't do nighters (family commitments)

There is or was skating at RollerWorld near Time Nightclub, which was itself a former occasional Nighter venue over the last couple of years. I used to go to RollerWorld as a kid to play roller hockey.

I didn't know they did allnighters though.

Very interesting though.

In the early days of Southport there wa s a Black kid from London who would Just skate around the camp all the time -then dance on his skates in the main room'

didn't know his name but once he had a T-Shirt on with "Black is Back"

did every fookers heads in !

Yea right next door to Time all-nighter (or what was) and last year when I attended Time, I broke the night up by goin skating for an hour or so  isnt like riding a bike though, was half decent back in the day, Mr Bean lookalike now,

ohmy.gif Wow..... thats my vid, first one I've made, didn't know it was up here. Was a bugger editing in the sound track ...the original was a shite jazz funk thing, got there purely by luck in the end. I'm trying to make unusual/funny vids with great northern tunes, so if anyone can point me in the direction of good footage I'd be very grateful.... in the meantime....here's one I prepared earlier
