A recent release, Magnus Carlson teaming up with Kevin Fingier to offer 'Play To Win', the official details follow below... Magnus Carlson Goes Latin! PLAY TO WIN – THE NEW SINGLE FROM MAGNUS CARLSON Blue eyed soul meets latin on the new single by platinum selling Swedish artist Magnus Carlson. When Magnus Carlson releases solo material outside his band Weeping Willows, he usually tries to seek out unexpected and surprising collaborations. On his new single “Play To Win” he has hooked up with Argentinian producer Kevin Fingier and his collective of the same name. Magnus had - like so many other soul and jazz aficionados - been completely blown away by Fingier’s rather edgy and tough, but yet very groovy latin sound and wanted a part of that for his next release. They wrote “Play To Win” on opposite sides of the planet and recording sessions and mixes was then sent back and forth between Kevin’s studio in Buenos Aires and the Cosmos Music Studio complex in Stockholm, until the right balance of latin, R&B and blue eyed soul had been struck. The result is a cool, beat driven, no-nonsense, but soulful latin groove with Magnus' unmistakably warm and powerful vocals leading the charge. Life is short And my time is now Roll the dice Give the wheel a spin I’ve paid the price Now I Play To Win Both Magnus and Kevin are passionate vinyl collectors and DJ’s. They share a passion for danceable live music with a strong sixties flavour - and a sound that is best enjoyed on the dance floor. They are both recording artists and songwriters in their own rights, but will surely work together again going forward. And even though they are based over twelve thousands miles apart, there is a palpable presence in this, their first collaboration. "Play To Win” with Magnus Carlson feat. nah, best if you add it to the event guide entry Once added correctly your event will then show on our event map, our local events near me guide etc etc. Plus the town/city will also then show in the listings next to your event as well. Source Achievement feature now open A new addition to Soul Source, the Achievement feature Intro Am sure most of you out there are aware of our 'reputation' feature, where members can 'react' to members posts, and results were/are displayed in various places on site. Well this feature is similar but just takes things that bit further. Now as well as members giving other members reputation points by 'reactions', the Achievement feature can do similar but with a wider scope/range. It can automatically clock members actions/posts and then use them as the base for working out the members new 'forum rank' rather than the previous ways of using reputation points or post totals. Make up of the Achievement feature Three main parts of the feature 'Rules'- Rules are the 'actions' that are noted. A whole range of actions can be noted and then highlighted. Basic ones like, members hitting the 5-year anniversary point, and normal day to day forum uses, but also the system as well can clock more 'soul source' oriented actions as well for our more bespoke features such as the Sales forums, Event Guide, Gallery, Freebasing and so on. 'Rank' - long-time members may remember we used to use something like this a while back, which was then based on the number of posts the member had made. Basically, it just a method of quickly shows the members current forum status now based on the rules above 'Badges' - A method to indicate both to the member and also other members, a summary and highlights of the members actual site actions. If a member hits a landmark of say 500 comments, a badge marking this point may be automatically added to the members account. It can go beyond this, 'badges' can be given to indicate 'traders', 'promoters'. 'reviewers', 'attenders' actions and so on. All which give a summary of the members use of the site which may also be useful to members when using the various features such as sales, events etc, All the above is done automatically by the system, once it's done the info generated will be displayed in various places through out the site as per below... Profile A bar at the top of the Profile page shows the rank, recent badges, reputation score and community answers total Badges Page Clicking on the recent badges box on the profile will take you to this page, where a more detailed look at ranks and the members badges displays Hover Card - Just mouse over a members avatar to see the below Forum post and member bar The rank icon is attached to the members avatar on forum posts and the rank shows in the drop down menu as per below Summary - as said the feature is now fully open, but no doubt some tweaks may be needed in the first few days/weeks to reflect the bespoke features and the way source site gets used, however it will now run automatically in the background. The 7" single will be available from 1 October 2021. Special Delivery evolved from Act 1 who recorded for Spring Records from 1973 under the direction of group member Raeford Gerald, a prolific writer-producer. Terry Huff became lead singer in 1975 and they joined Mainstream Records where their records were credited to variations of 'Terry Huff & Special Delivery'. When Huff left, the remaining members Chester Fortune, George Parker, Veronica Martin and Reginald Ross recorded in Washington, D.C. and released three singles and a self-titled LP on independent label Shield Records with national distribution via TK Productions. Their third Shield single, issued in 1978, was an edit of 'This Kind Of Love' which, sadly, cut out the album version's spoken section by Chester Fortune and Veronica Martin. It wasn't released in the UK where the song became a minor 1985 pop hit for Phil Fearon & Galaxy. Shotgun Records and sister label One World Records are distributed by Selrec International. Further information is available from Paul Mooney and Paul Conroy. Radio plugging is handled by Steve Ripley. Gilly I never get this style of project promotion We do have a fully featured news feature on here, where decent items rack up thousands of page views all you need to do is knock to up a decent news item , add an image and post it up via here https://www.soul-source.co.uk/articles/ there's an add new article link there when it gets published the following happens.... the news item has a day or two at the top of our front page the news item has top billing in our news articles feature the news item gets a highlight topic posted automatically in this very forum it can get posted on twitter and facebook and whatsapp/telegram groups either by the site or readers or both via the share icon it gets added to our email newsletter, the one that gets sent to over 6000 members each week There you go, easy as pie and should only take a few minutes It works better for members, works better for site and works better for soul related projects everyone a winner has to be better than a plain old ordinary forum post right?
