  1. My bro Dave has been playing this on and off for a couple of years now, I didn't realise it was as rare as it appears to be. Both sides are very nice tho'. Jordi
  2. Adam Leaver (Rookie) did have a copy of this a few months back, you could try him on here or the funk forum. Jordi

Nev, I often put an early bid in like Phil does because I have a max in my mind that I want to pay and if I get it, great, if not, tough shit. At least I know that I put down what I was prepared to pay, so no regrets. I've watched snipes come in like confetti at the end and still not beat the bid I put on 3 days before, so it all comes down to what you're prepared to pay for the thing in first place. Also you don't get drawn in to bidding fever wars. You still have to sneak out of bed in the middle of the night and pretend you've heard some burglars to check the end result though. Jordi
  4. Matt, I have heard of this being sold for between £800 and a grand by a certain seller in the UK. I used to have a a copy but I wasn't overly struck. When I spoke to Butch about this record and the price I'd seen it for, he laughed and said he'd sold a copy for £100. I must admit it sounds more like a hundred quid tune than a grand tune to my ears. One went very cheap on ebay a few weeks back. Jordi
  5. Anyone got a copy? Cheers. Jordi

I've got it Brett, but to be honest there's nothing too hot on there as I recall. I'll have another listen. Jordi

It makes a great follower to Unique Blend - Yes I'm In Love. if you're DJ'ing with it. Jordi

  13. I've got a nice stepper by Geraldine De Haas - Wheels of Life on Della (at least I think it's on Della). Jordi
  14. What's the version of "I can't keep from crying sometimes"? is it a remake by Mario Bondi or is it the brilliant Dierdre Wilson Tabac version? Jordi
  15. Someone mentioned earlier that James Lewis' Case of Time - Manifesto was white. Surely not! Anyone got a picture? Mickey mouse concerto. Tim, Tam and Turn ons. I can't understand why a lot of my black mates look bewildered when Northern is referred to as soul music. Jordi
  16. I don't think you'll get a mint one for a 100, not now. Jordi
  17. Who's the esteemed soul & northern collector then Euan? Jordi
  18. Anybody want a 12" copy for £25? PM me. Jordi
  19. What does the 12" go for? Jordi
  20. I want to hear Willie Faulk's version too. Anyone got a soundclip? Jordi
  21. I Agree with you Sean, the thing with Nobodies Children is, like a lot of the funkier end of soul, that they sound great in a smaller, sweaty venue rather than a big cavernous Northern type of hall, and they certainly sound better played out anywhere rather than out of shitty computer speakers. Anyway as you say each to their own. It's got a lovely sweet group sound on the flip BTW and in my book it's a pure soul record, written and produced by Chet Davenport. Right, where's my Cathy Davis and my Tommy Trojan? Jordi
  22. Totally agree Sean, I tend to like oddball 70's records like this one, and I try to go to places that programme that kind of stuff (along with other stuff obviously) to people that like it. Jordi
  23. Hard to say as there's only a small amount of known copies. I've got a copy, the guy I had it from in Canada had a copy, a japanese guy has a copy and DJ Honky has a copy. I don't know of any others. Jordi
  24. It's Nobodies Children - Shardarp (Toeholt) from 1976. Top tune indeed!! Jordi
