Standing Room Only - All in a day / Sacrifice on Lamarr. Anyone got one for me, please. Jordi
  2. Art Freeman - "slipping around", for when the cleaners do the floors. Youngblood Smith - "you can split", after slipping on said floors. PS. Sutty, I remember laughing at that piece years ago on EMS, nice to read it again. Jordi
  3. Agree totally Mark, it's just a stunning tour de force, exciting, relentless, unbelievable arrangements and vocals to die for, even a bit jazzy. One of my absolute favourite tunes. Can you imagine being in the recording studio when this was cut as a single take. It's why I love old 60's and 70's music and why I find a lot of today's sanitised studio produced music, a bit dull in comparison to say the least. Every home should have a Royal Esquires. Jordi

Glad it went to a good home John, think you got a bargain. Looking forward to the 23rd, I might have some other bits to sell you also. Jordi
  5. I've got one Nev, it's a bugger to fit in a record box though. Every Feb 14th I keep thinking I must put it on ebay for the valentines market. Jordi

Lead singer with Sly, Slick and Wicked I think. Jordi
  8. Cigarette Ashes - Jimmy Conwell (Mirwood) Never in a million years - Honey and the Bees (Garrison) What - Judy Street (Strider) This thing called love - Johnny Wyatt (Bronco) Tons of 'em, they were always my favourite 'Northern' tunes if they had vibes in. Jordi

You can't always tell Steve, I got a nice 45 by Joe Brown this weekend and it sure wasn't the cheeky cockney with the Bruvvers. Jordi
  10. I think you've got to use the "C**t" word in your application Dave before you're approved. Whatever you do don't say your a mate of James Trouble or you'll never get on. Jordi

Clay Brown is just deadly. When these have disappeared into collections in a few years time, people will wish they'd bought this while they could. Jordi

PM me mate, I've got one if you want it. £100 inc. post and Paypal. Best...Jordi
  13. Great tune Ivor, can't believe you're selling it. "Free" is massive in my house! Jordi
  14. Yes I noticed this Gash, I think the Anna Raye went for more than he has it on his website as well!! Wonder what his Babs St. clair will go for. Jordi
  15. I might have a mint copy for sale if anyone wants one. I'll have to check, I might have already sold it a year or so ago. I must start doing some memory excercises. Jordi

We used to play it a lot in the Midlands 'Crossover 2000' nights about 7/8 years back, top tune! with very sad, heartfelt lyrics. Jordi

Good point, well made, and it links in with a lot of debates on here about what DJ's play and what audiences want. Thing is, I don't think too many punters actually buy records any more. Jordi Jordi

Cheap as chips as the others have said, fab tune that sounds like it should cost hundreds. Jordi

One of my favs is from this album, "It's no fun living in the ghetto", out and out fantastic uptempo 70's dancer that always works for me when I spin it. Shame it's not a 45 then it might get more spins. Jordi

You sometimes have to hold your breath and wait when dealing with the American gradings, but generally I find that they are usually much better than you would expect. VG is often what some UK dealers class as EX. A UK VG usually means it's pretty shit. Not always the case, but as I say I find I can usually trust American gradings to be better than the UK equivalent. Jordi

It's a high start price but it's a rare and fantastic record, and I don't know of many copies floating around. I think it only had the one bid on so at about £250 I would say was a good price. It's not the kind of record you can just get hold of by waving cash around 'cos the copies just aren't around. I know when I got my copy I had a couple of American guys asking me to sell it, although I didn't pay $500 for it, but I might have. Jordi

The very same Rod. After you sold it to Dave I was looking for years before I got a copy. Nev has now joined the happy owner's club. When you leave your house in the morning with your slippers on like I did this morning, that's when you worry about going senile. Hope you're well Rod. Best...Jordi

    Nice one Nev.
  24. Anyone???
  25. That's where I first heard it and I was looking for some years for a copy of the 45. I've had 2 copies but I haven't seen it for sale very often at all over the years. Jordi
