Dave Charles has been played loads over the last 20 years or more by a host of DJs. Last time I heard it was at Wilton Ballrooms (either the last one or the one before) by Colin Denham. Never done it for me though I have to say.

I keep thinking about that show - was it Saturday Night at the Apollo where they would come out wearing a clowns outfit with a brush and sweep you off the stage if you weren't any good? They should do the same if you don't play originals
