  1. You're having a laugh! I don't need Butch et al to play a record for me to like it. I can make my own mind up thank you very much. I hated Frank Wilson the very first time I heard it, almost 30 long years ago. I thought it was pants then and I think it is pants now. Albeit a little bit tighter round the waist then they were back then. If it had been left up to records like this - I would never have got into Northern Soul music. Have I said I think it's pants?
  2. Jeez... I'd never find anything if I did that! I'm like Bearsy, put a record on and I have no idea what I'm going to follow it up with until I get to it after a frantic two minute root through the box. Disorganised chaos. You should try it Steve
  3. Have a look in the 'media section'. Bound to be something in there that tickles your fancy. Also, work your way through 'refosoul'. If you don't find anything in there you like - I'd give up!!
  4. Please explain what a Northern Soul fan is please? And then what a Soul fan and a Rare Soul fan is? Thanks
  5. Ask the man himself. He's on here as Dysonsoul. I can tell you now though mate, you will have no problem what so ever.
  6. Of course it's a matter of personal taste. It's just that my personal taste is Frank Wilson is pants
  7. Hence why I don't go to the Monaco
  8. I wasn't being patronising mate. I was just saying that record is pants because I think it is pants. It may well fill the dance floor at venues you frequent but it would not fill the dance floor at venues I frequent. In fact, I have already posted that I cannot remember the last time I heard the record out because the venues I frequent do not play pants. Feel free to say I am being patronising if you wish. You are entitled to your opinion. As am I. And my opinion is Frank Wilson is pants.
  9. A full dance floor does not mean the record they are dancing to is a good one. Not by any stretch of the imagination. It's pants!
  10. Frank Wilson is absolute pants compared to some of the incredible tunes that came out of Motown
  11. I can't believe there are four people on here who think their opinions don't count!!
  12. Old enough to know better but still young enough to not give a toss
  13. Have to say I have never been a fan. Not a problem though cos I honestly can't remember the last time I heard this record. Must be going to all the right venues
  14. Now that would be great!
  15. Out of all the venues I have been to over the years, Shotts is the one I would love to experience all over again given the chance.
  16. You should have been around 20 years ago Liam! Honestly the Scottish soul scene back then was second to none Anyway, I can't disagree, all great DJ's - but hardly 'up and coming'. All fairly well established imo.
  17. Also spun by Kitch for a while too. Great tune. I love it
  18. Maybe for the same reason someone in their 20's does - they enjoy it
  19. Jumpinjoan replied to a post in a topic in Record Wants
Is that 3 x £6.80? Back on topic. The first time I ever heard Charles Thomas was on the John Peel show on Radio One. Great tune.
  20. Ha ha.... just thank God that happened before you decided to sell all your records Phil
  21. The Martineques has been played quite a bit John, and for a good amount of years too. Kitch's old Three Jades cover up if my memory serves me correctly. Could never get played enough for me though. Incredible tune.
  22. I have seen her live a couple of times, many years ago, and have to say was never overly impressed. Last night was very sad to see though for sure.
  23. This has been around for ages. I agree, it could get more plays though
  24. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE
