Like the idea and the nethusiasm but unfortuanelty i cant see it growing past an acorn. Ebay rules i am afraid to say and its far too big to go against. Best bet is to see what Martin can offer through his site and set you goals from a tree to maybe the twig.

Yes. Cant actually work out if it's serious...

Nope, the only edge it will give you is less punters IMO - whether they be northern, rare modern or crossover goers - connoisseurs is a crap term if you want to put a night on - fine to stay at home with ....
  5. and what was the question????
  6. Dave Abbott replied to a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
I always thought it was used as a replacement for "Northern Soul" taking the event away from the stigma(?) of oldies events. ////////////////////////// sort of what i thought too and to encompass music that wasnt traditional 'northern' to be played
  7. got to slightly disagree; i think it sounds good at home too yes twas me played it at bury.
  8. ...sounds like you know more than Jamie lol
  9. i would stick it at higher - cos i can not remember where i saw it for the £100 region (dont know if it was from a dealer or not). Morer's got one for about £165, so somewhere up near there i guess.
  10. got Playgirls love - agree good track but prefer 'Change of Pace' which i play out quite a bit - great record :-)
  11. give this a play out now and again. playing the LaVells - Share Him ot at the moment - brilliant record. Mamselles just doesnt do it for me Mark

i've had this problem a couple of times - well i didnt crack any records but they were tight fitting so when it happened in the end i just plonk the old records on the decks without a middle
  17. i wonder what actually happened to Rufus Wood when he got to 2001. Bet he spontaneuosly combusted ;-)
  18. Davie, still no excuse, either way
  19. yep, lost me as well.... the only thing i can think is are you saying, if you book a big name DJ, is he going to play stuff only that other DJ''s will know? in which case, if you are a big name DJ, you will know where you are going, know what the crowd will want to here and alter your playbox accordingly. i have seen plenty of big name DJ's who have done that and gain my respect for doing it. on the flipside i have seen plenty of notBig name DJ's who play what they want to, irrespective of the crowd/venue and flop. if thats not what you're talking about, i have got me coat...
  20. Thanks alot for talking about the upcoming 'job' on an open forum. And on reading this i suppose Plan B of 'my records were eaten my a great storm of locusts' would not work either. Jesus would of course only have and play originals; apart from the time that he bought a boot of 'John and the Weirdest', but that of course has been replaced with an original now. Jesus decided not to release Frank Wilson, it wasnt Berry Gordy. Jesus loves everyone and treats people who have boots or play disco as he would any other leper and of course if he did promote a soul nite it would be the best soul nite ever.
