  1. I'm afraid that's just a cowards way out. If you are going to make accusations like this you should either name names or not bother making the accusation at all. OK you've said it isn't me, I knew that anyway, but it still leaves the other 10 DJs on at Rugby under your cloud of suspicion, and having accusations like that made can affect whether you get future bookings. OK, I can see you would think that the person you are talking about shouldn't get any more bookings, but what about the other nine whose reputations you have clouded and muddied with your accusations ???? If you are positive in what you are saying, and can back it up with more than hearsay, whispers, and rumours, I won't call you anything other than an honest man with the courage of his convictons.
  2. Who's that then, seeing as I'm one of the DJ's on at Rugby. If you want to make accusations like that you need to be specific, and then support your accusation, ie name the records played off carvers, otherwise it's just smoke and mirrors, whispers and rumours. If you're going to say something, have the balls to do it properly ! And I'll happily admit I've got 5 acetates / carvers in my DJ Box. Three unreleased tracks, and two album only tracks
  3. What's even worse is you are a Wolves fan !
  4. My last words on the subject. I tried to present a reasonable point of view. I didn't actually defend the play, (How could I, I haven't seen it) I defended their right to put it on. Anything else smacks of censorship.....ie you can't put this play on because I don't want you to because it's my play ! Perhaps if you'd read what I actually wrote, you'd have realised this, and not had to resort to personal insults to try and make your point.

  6. When I asked Don Mancha about the two different titles on the issue copies he wasn't even aware of a difference and couldn't provide any explanation. Don Mancha Interview
  7. No of course I'm not saying I'd do that. However that's not the choice on offer is it because Paul's production no longer exists. I might go to the allnighter on Saturday and the Legion on Sunday, but I wouldn't start a campaign to rubbish the cover band by saying they were going to be crap before hearing them play either. I understand Paul's point about his version of the play being about the vinyl. But this isn't his version of the play, and he hasn't heard the band play yet, or seen the actors act yet. By all means be critical when you are in a position to do so, but as far as I can tell (If you take away the fact they used reviews of his play to advertise this version which was patently wrong) this is no different from two different theatre companies putting on the same production. Without seeing both you cannot make a fair judgement as to which is the best. Especially as one version hasn't even opened it's doors yet. It's extremely unlikely I will ever go and see the Octagon version because of the distance I live from Bolton these days, but if I did I still wouldn't be able to say it was crap compared to Paul's production, because I didn't see Paul's production either. However if I did see the Octagon version, and thought it was crap, I'd say so, because I would then be in a position to make that judgement. I'm not doubting Paul's passion and committment to his version either, that's obvious. I just think it's a little unfair of him to be so critical of someone else's creative efforts before the doors even open to the public.
  8. Hmmm, how do you know the musicians in the band aren't just as good as the musicians who played on the original record ? I'm not claiming they are, because I've never heard them play. But then again, neither have you !
  9. I was asked for it twice last night Pete by different people, and I know Jellybean and Mart are desperate for a copy. I'd have put £120 on it if I had one for sale

And I have to add that the Irish Soulies, both North and South are collectively the best gang of people who just go out to have a good time that I've come across in a long time.

Either Sean Chapman or Adam had acopy of The Fabulous Peps in their sales box on Sunday night. I remember seeing it, but can't remember which box it was in. they are both on SS though, so a PM to each should resolve it. Sean is on here as Matt Tees I think and Adam is Soul45s HTH

  18. James, I'm most put out. I disagreed with you and you didn't have the decency to reply and insult me. You must try harder.
  19. I'd be surprised if it gets played at all this time next year. It's a pleasant enough track, but if you keep playing it three times a night people will soon get very sick of it. In addition, if it becomes widely available, the people who want a copy will all get one, and then stop asking for it when they are out, and if it doesn't become available, it's not good enough to become that much of an in demand record. We'll have to wait and see though.

I know his Dad. It's mutual
  25. Or have promoters who are not DJs, then they have to book DJs on what they play, not the promise of a set in return.
